Do the fire resistant sprays/paints protect your house from bushfire's as bad as the Victorian fires?
If your house is protected properly in other ways eg: vegetation burns offs, covered gutters, fire retardant windows etc will spraying/painting outside timber with a supposed bushfire resistant product, will your house (and you) survive bush fires with heats like the recent Victorian Black Saturday Bush fires?
Will they actually protect a house against bush fires like these? Or will the house just become engulfed with flames and have no chance?
Paint won't protect a home. What most people don't realise is the intensity of the heat involved during an Aussie bushfire. Houses burst into flames before the bushfire flames reach them, the heat is so great that the houses actually explode. I don't think fire resistant coatings are worth a cracker......if things don't burn, they simply melt.
