Would it be bad to wear this outside?
i mean, like, if it was a really hot day would it still look inappropriate to wear this? http://www.flirtcatalog.com/p-84601-marilyn-halter-top.aspx?pagenum=1&pagesize=null&sortby=name&prevurl=c-902-clubwear-tops-sexy-halter-tops.aspx
i brought this for wearing to a club but then i was like "hmm what if i wore this for every day?" i donno part of me thinks its too reveling for a walk outside but then theres the other part of me that might just be crazy enough to do it, lol. what do you all think?
Yes, it doesn't just "look" like clubwear. it *IS* club wear... duh!
So if you want to wear this type of clothes and not look like a "working girl" you need some serious thought for the outfit.
It is a little like a maryilyn top so you need to do the rest retro to pull it off. Still it is definitly a weekend look. Unless you work at a trendy salon or as a bartender.
Anyhow, if it is possible at all I would try:
High waisted pants, possible the navy blue sailor style with vertical rows of buttons over the hip bones. The pants need to go WELL above the navel. It will cut down on the skin showing. Also, not too tight. Think 1940's Golden age of hollywood: flare or wide leg. You need to ADD fabric to the rest of the outfit.
A Cropped fitted jacket, keeping with the nautical theme you could get something white with gold buttons/ details. Or something Sleek (no lapel or buttons) and red colored. Last option would be a dark wash cropped jean jacket. But then the pants should be denim too. 3/4 sleeve would be ok or long sleeve rolled up to the forearm. Again ADDing visual "weight" to the outfit.
Ankle boots in a neutral color, like dark brown, navy, or black.
Large, slouchy hobo purse, possible distressed leather.
"Done" hair, not too sexy. Try something retro and think about using glamour sunglasses as a headband.
Stud earings only. No hoochie hoops.
Also: a final word about support. The chick in tha add looks great (for clubbing) Real people usually have some lumps/bumps and sags. Please for the love of all that is good - wear some support. Take a look at Glamour.com if you need further shaming into support. No one wants to be a "don't".
