i tried dying my hair a dark Burgundy the top part dyed but the rest didn't it was like i didn't even dye it?

The only thing I can think of is that your hair was already previously colored. You can not color over colored hair. Many people think that once a haircolor fades, it is gone when in fact it is not. Coloring your hair is actually changing the structure of your hair so its not gone until your hair grows out, hence why the top (new hair,) colored fine. You may need to strip it (don't freak out, your hair will be orange,) then try coloring again. Stay away from bleaching as that will be too damaging. Hope I helped!
