Tunic Top Kurti

How can I make an Indian tunic?
I have brocade fabric that I'd like to make into an Indian-style kurti top. I've been looking for pattern ideas, but all I can find are Renaissance-style tunic designs that look like this:

I DON'T want that kind of design. What I'm looking for is more along these lines:

I like the neckline design of the last one, but preferably I'd like to make a top with shorter sleeves and that is a little more fitted around the waist, but not tight.
Any ideas? I would really appreciate it!

You can also fake a kurta from any straight sided blouse or shirt pattern. Place CF on fold, and cut as a high, jewel neckline. Cut a neck facing 2" longer than the intended front slit.
